A plain-language privacy overview

Current site features

Start With Hoops provides public educational pages, interactive practice tools, a contact form, and an optional email update list. The site does not currently accept payments or publish public comments. Google AdSense publisher-verification metadata and an ads.txt declaration are present so Google can review the site. Those connection records do not mean the site has been approved or that ads are serving.

Contact messages and email updates

If you use the contact form, the site stores your name, email address, selected topic, message, consent version, and submission time so the site owner can review and respond. If you request email updates, the site stores your email address, signup source, consent version, subscription status, confirmation and delivery status, and relevant timestamps. A time-limited confirmation link is sent first; the address does not become active until someone with access to that inbox confirms it. Unconfirmed pending requests older than 30 days are removed when the signup service next performs its cleanup. Do not submit sensitive medical, financial, or identity information.

Email delivery and list synchronization are handled by Resend, which processes email addresses and delivery information for those purposes. See Resend's privacy policy.

You may ask for a contact message to be deleted or leave the update list through the contact page. Contact and subscriber records are not sold. They are retained only as long as reasonably needed to operate the forms, maintain the list, handle abuse, or meet applicable obligations.

Information processed automatically

The hosting provider may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, timestamps, and security logs. This processing is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and maintain service security. The contact and signup forms create short-lived HMAC-protected pseudonymous security keys from the requesting network address to limit automated abuse. The raw address is not stored in the form-protection table. Expired keys are not used after their rate-limit window, and old rows are removed opportunistically.

Advertising and cookies

Google AdSense serving code is disabled by default in the site application. It is intended to remain disabled until Google approves the site and the owner explicitly enables it. If enabled, the code can load only on substantial public content routes after a visitor allows optional Google services; it is not intended to load on contact, privacy, account, confirmation, unsubscribe, category, search, or practice-builder screens. The public basketball guides and tools remain available when a visitor chooses “Continue without.”

A Google-certified consent management platform must be enabled in the AdSense account for locations where Google requires one. Any applicable regional Google message operates separately from the first-party Start With Hoops privacy choice. The site-level control determines whether optional Google scripts may load at all; a configured Google message collects the additional advertising choices required for covered traffic. When advertising is approved, enabled, and allowed, Google and other advertising vendors may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar technologies to serve, limit, personalize, and measure advertising.

Advertising uses and disclosures remain subject to visitor settings, consent, and applicable law. Visitors can manage personalized Google advertising through Google Ads Settings. Analytics

Start With Hoops uses Google Analytics 4 only after a visitor allows optional Google services. Google Analytics may process information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser details, referral source, interactions, and visit timing. Search text, unsubscribe and confirmation codes, email addresses, and private owner pages are excluded from site-generated analytics events. This information helps improve navigation, guides, and site performance.

Google may use cookies or similar technologies for analytics measurement. Start With Hoops does not use Google Analytics to intentionally collect names, email addresses, or account information. Analytics data is handled under Google's terms and privacy practices. Visitors can learn about how Google uses information from partner sites or use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Your privacy choices

Use the “Privacy and cookie settings” control in the site footer to allow or disable optional Google services at any time. If advertising is later enabled, Google may show a separate certified regional message with additional choices. This section also provides direct links to Google Ads Settings and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. You may also use the contact page for a data or privacy request.

Links to other sites

Start With Hoops links to official rulebooks and other outside resources. Those websites are operated independently and follow their own privacy practices.

Children

This site provides general educational content and is not designed to collect personal information from children. Parents and guardians should supervise online activity and training decisions for young players.

Policy changes

This policy may change when site features, advertising, legal requirements, or service providers change. The effective date will be updated when a material revision is published.
